ENT (Ear, Nose & Throat)

What is ENT?

Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) medicine focuses on the diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, head and neck. Symptoms such as hearing loss, blocked ears, nasal obstruction, nosebleeds, throat discomfort, voice changes or dizziness can significantly affect quality of life and should be assessed by a specialist.

Our private ENT service provides consultant-led outpatient assessment and treatment in a calm, modern clinical setting. Appointments are led by an experienced Consultant ENT Surgeon and are tailored to provide accurate diagnosis, reassurance and clear management plans.

Where appropriate, diagnostic tests and minor local anaesthetic procedures can be performed during the consultation, allowing timely investigation and treatment without the need for hospital admission.

New ENT Consultation

  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Price: £250

During your first appointment, the Consultant ENT Surgeon will take a detailed medical history and carry out a thorough ENT examination. Where clinically appropriate, diagnostic tests such as nasendoscopy, audiogram or tympanometry may be recommended or performed.

A clear management plan will be discussed with you, including treatment options, reassurance or follow-up arrangements. A summary letter will be shared with your GP to support continuity of care.

Follow-up ENT Appointment

  • Duration: 15 minutes
  • Price: £150

This appointment is suitable for patients returning to review symptoms, test results or response to treatment. The consultant will assess progress, adjust the management plan if needed and advise on next steps.

Microsuction

Microsuction is a safe and effective method of removing ear wax using a gentle suction device under direct vision. It allows the clinician to see clearly inside the ear canal and remove wax precisely without pushing it further into the ear.

Microsuction can help improve hearing, reduce a blocked or full sensation in the ear, and ease symptoms such as discomfort, tinnitus or dizziness caused by wax build-up. The procedure is usually quick, well tolerated and does not involve water.

Nasendoscopy

Nasendoscopy is a simple diagnostic test that allows the clinician to look inside the nose and the back of the throat using a thin, flexible camera. A local anaesthetic spray may be used to make the procedure more comfortable.

This test helps assess symptoms such as nasal blockage, nosebleeds, sinus problems, voice changes, throat discomfort or swallowing difficulties. It provides detailed information that cannot be seen during a routine examination and helps guide diagnosis and treatment planning.

Nasal Cautery

Nasal cautery is a treatment used to help control recurrent nosebleeds. It works by sealing a small blood vessel inside the nose that is prone to bleeding.

The procedure is carried out using local anaesthetic and is usually quick. Nasal cautery can significantly reduce the frequency of nosebleeds and help prevent further episodes. Aftercare advice will be provided to support healing and reduce the risk of recurrence.

Audiogram

An audiogram is a hearing test that measures how well you can hear sounds at different pitches and volumes. During the test, you will wear headphones and be asked to respond to a series of tones.

This test helps identify the presence and degree of hearing loss and whether it affects one or both ears. The results support accurate diagnosis and help guide treatment options, such as reassurance, monitoring or further investigation.

Tympanogram

A tympanogram is a quick test that assesses how well the eardrum and middle ear are working. A small soft probe is placed at the entrance of the ear canal, and gentle air pressure changes are applied.

This test helps identify problems such as fluid behind the eardrum, Eustachian tube dysfunction or reduced movement of the eardrum. It is painless and provides valuable information when investigating hearing loss, ear fullness or recurrent ear symptoms.

If you are experiencing ear, nose or throat symptoms and would like expert assessment in a private setting, our ENT service offers consultant-led care you can trust.
