What is an Eyelid Cyst?

A cyst is a fluid-filled lump that can develop on the eyelid, often due to a blocked gland.

 

What causes Eyelid Cysts?

  • Blocked oil glands
  • Chronic eyelid inflammation (blepharitis)
 

How is an Eyelid Cyst treated?

Small cysts may resolve on their own, but larger or persistent cysts may require surgical removal.

 

What does the procedure involve?

A local anaesthetic is used, followed by a small incision to remove the cyst’s contents.
